Description

Develop and deliver technical talent in a research, technology or product development environment, and implement near term business strategies with a focus on execution. Provide problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact. Lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems across functions within a global business unit or managing improvement across business units. Create, improve and apply work processes involving activities such as resource allocation and management, organizational and business change, customer/stakeholder management and knowledge management, all used for the purposes of enabling high quality decision making that meets business expectations. Make decisions including resource deployment cost and timing allocations, project prioritization, personnel staffing, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) management, resulting in a positive impact on project cost and delivery within a site or across several sites within a business unit. Establish employee performance standards and work collaboratively to set goals and address arears of deficiency. Plan, schedule, coordinate and execute the activities involved in developing a product to a respectively aligned hierarchy of requirements and technical profiles. Monitor and communicate across functional boundaries to meet project resource and quality expectations. Ensure product capability meets or exceeds expectations and take mitigating actions when project risks are higher than expected. Lead Product Verification and Validation Management activities to develop product systems validation plans from a variety of inputs to identify failure modes, while managing product risk and relative priority. Negotiate product requirements against capability to guide project scope, value test results to verify product capability and validate requirements, assess legacy versus proposed system solution capabilities, and produce recommendations with technical documentation to support product decisions. Use System Requirements Engineering methods and tools to translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which designs are developed, and establish acceptance criteria for the system of interest through analysis, allocation, and negotiation. Document information based on knowledge gained as part of technical function activities and communicate to stakeholders with the goal of enabling improved technical productivity. Establish and maintain the balance of scope, schedule and resources for a project using Project Management tools and methodologies.

Experience and Education:

Positions require a Master’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering Management, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Product or Technical Engineer, Supply Chain or Operations Analyst, Project Manager, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Engineering Management, or related field and 6 years of experience as a Product or Technical Engineer, Supply Chain or Operations Analyst, Project Manager, or related position. Experience to include: Problem resolution leadership; Resource allocation and management; Annual Operating Plan (AOP) management; Meet project resource and quality expectations; Product Verification and Validation Management; System Requirements Engineering; Technical documentation; Project Management.
