About the role

Purpose

The Southern Europe Head of Reserve and Luxury role will be integral to building a successful, scalable and balanced Reserve and Luxury business in Southern Europe and will be responsible for driving the right distribution and commercial execution of Luxury product within the region of Southern Europe. This role is accountable for the definition of our Luxury portfolio strategy across all channels and countries within Southern Europe and the brilliant execution of the premium segment in the On Trade as well.

Complexity

This role has market scope and will have priorities that range from strategic planning and collaborating with the Global Luxury Team, different Market and global Marketing teams as well as handling commercial executions with the local commercial leads in the market.

Ability to adapt and tailor ideas and thinking to ensure relevance and alignment across the SE countries while establishing a common language and ways of working is crucial.

Reserve and Luxury is a fast-growing business that is a strategic priority for Diageo. There is a big ambition to grow this side of the business and this role will play a key role in achieving this. This role will need to implement innovative ways, challenge the status quo, as well as lead multiple relationships and influence Customer Marketing leads, Sales Directors, Marketing Directors, and The Global Luxury Team.

People management and an ability to influence, encourage and lead others will be vital. The scope of this role is still evolving; hence there is freedom for the individual to build the conditions to achieve the objectives.

The role will be a crucial link between the local commercial teams and the Global Luxury Team, facilitating excellence of execution and efficient commercialisation of Luxury product.

Decision maker for:

  • Luxury portfolio market strategy alongside Consumer Marketing

  • Definition of priorities and investment principles across all channels and countries

  • Definition of tools for luxury portfolio across all channels through the Shopper Marketing function

  • Activation investment in TLA/Pacemaker segments in all countries including On Trade and retail accounts

  • Brand allocations and priorities in all planning processes

Top accountabilities:

  • Responsible for working with a cross-functional team to build and ensure accurate execution of the Reserve and Luxury strategy, ambition and plans for Southern Europe

  • Be the link with the Luxury Global team and work with the Southern Europe Marketing and Sales Leads to provide Market input into the Global Luxury Strategy

  • Deliver a Southern Europe Growth Plan for Reserve and Luxury, with input from the different countries and consumer insights

  • Track progress on Reserve and Luxury in Southern Europe and take actions to keep on track

  • Partner with Supply Planning to hold Sales teams to account on leading their stock levels and demand forecasts for high value and in-demand stock

  • Be responsible for the allocations process for luxury & special releases across Southern Europe

  • Identify Capability needs across Southern Europe and build plans

  • Partner with the Southern Europe Brand Teams to ensure robust BTL/ATL plans are in place and coordinate with relevant teams to make it happen, with outstanding execution

  • Support investment requests for Reserve and Luxury

  • Look for new RTC opportunities for Reserve and Luxury within Southern Europe

  • Carry out regular M&E on Reserve and Luxury Innovation launches

About you

Crucial experience required

  • 10+ years commercial/customer marketing/ experience

  • On trade and Luxury experience

  • Ability to influence internal and external partners at all levels

  • Excellent leadership, relationship-building and communication skills

  • Outstanding analytical skills and ability to compile & collate data to derive insight and action

  • Good commercial understanding, P&L literacy - strong numerical skills.

  • Excellent English and Spanish language skills (Italian, French, Portuguese would be an advantage)
